My second attempt at sculpey:

The lazuli, named for their vibrant sapphire eyes and blue chest, are a tree dwelling, hexapedal marsupial species. Commonly forming ‘squalls’ lead by a matriarch, they patrol large territories and communicate with a wide vocal range of croaks and chirrups. Intelligent, hardy and trainable, they’re popularly kept as solitary domestic pets to guard property, with an omnivore diet useful for keeping garden pests in check.

Super sculpey. August 2006. 8 inches long by 5.5 inches high.

That is SO friggen cute! Oh lordy, that's great! Sculpey you said? Did you have to do a wire frame for it, or was it good all on it's own?

You know I only love you for your.... big.... long..... hard...... pageviews ~ ~ShapeStrong

I made a rough frame out of tin foil, but that’s all I needed (for this lazuli’s tail, a foil support was vital) But sculpey is pretty light, so for smaller sculptures that don’t defy gravity, you can manage without a frame. Though it’s not cheap, so a foil frame also saves on materials and cooking time.

dang teh textures. markings. the design itself. its also very cuteeeee.

i took like a minute to think what the name reminded me of. and then it hit me like a soccer ball. lazuli is also the name of meerkat group in "Meerkat Manor" lol <3.
:icontheneongryphon:
I know! I love meerkat manor! When I first saw it and heard one group was called The Lazuli, I decided I should call this cute little guy Jogu after my favourite meerkat.
But all that aside, lazuli is also a beautiful blue gemstone, which is why I originally picked the name (to go with their brilliant blue throat and eyes).

Which actually makes me wonder why they called the Whisker's rival gang The Lazuli. What's blue about meerkats? >.>'
