Has someone posted a link to my EyeCons somewhere? Because I'm suddenly getting a huge wave of interest that could easily keep me busy every night until Christmas. What's going on?

Sorry if you're one of the people that has mailed in the last few days about it. I'm trying to organise the orders now, but with exams and lab work, I need to get my grades sorted before business. But I will get back to everyone asap. Thank you so much for all the interest

It’s been quiet in my gallery since term started. I have exams and essays at the moment, so it’s all pharma-science and no art for now. I do have more EyeCons to post and more in the queue, but please have patience. ThestressOMFGodhavemercy.

So busy, so much to learn. Pharmacy school is really hard work. All I ever get is examed, lab assignments, chemisty statistics chemistry exams, math and physical chemistry. And who invented negative marking?! That’s not a constructive form of testing! Kweh.

I can’t wait for Christmas so I can get some art time in. But I live, that’s all I wanted to say.

Phew. It was my 1st day at University. I am so tired D= I already have a pharmacology project. How cruel!

But it went without a hitch. No embarrassing moments or intellectual absences.

1st impressions are important, right? So anybody ever had a terribly embarrassing moment when trying to make theirs? Any horror stories or red-faced school disasters you want to share? We promise to laugh with you, not at you

An individual on DA noted me for a project, asking me to make tiny pixel art for his website game. It’s something akin to Neopets slash Gaia. I’m really not into either of those things, and I haven’t even touched pixel art in my life. So why they bothered to contact me about it when clearly I am not interested I have no idea. But these things alone don’t bother me much. What did bother me is the line “you will be paid based on the quality of the art you supply.”

Now hang on. Since when does someone else get to price my work, paying me a rate based on their appraisal of my skills, especially after they’ve received the work? Insulting, pretentious and did I mention insulting?

As a freelancer, I have a particular system for commissions that has proven itself to be the best method through years of fine-tuning and experience. I have already examined my work for quality and reflected on the value of my time. I continuously reassess my prices and my art, and it’s only respectful of the commissioner to agree with those terms and the rate, or else seek another artist.

If you’ve had a similar offer, please do not feel flattered that someone else is planning on pricing your work for you. A good commissioner will have read your terms, and will negotiate a price with you that you’re both happy with. Don’t let someone else move in and tell you what you’re worth paying, especially when they hold the artwork in their hands. It only invites mistrust, distress and low self-esteem.

So tonight is supposed to be the best night to see something overhead. Did anybody see anything, or anyone making plans? Each year I go to the countryside and take a look, and each year I hardly see one or two streaks. Maybe this year?
